English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Our goal is to help you improve your English for academic, business, professional, or personal use. Classes focus on:
Speaking and pronunciation
Grammar
Writing
Vocabulary
Reading
Our program offers both day time and evening classes depending on your level. All of our classes are subject to change. Below is a past example of our schedule:
DAY TIME CLASSES
Level 1 — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (9 A.M. - 12 P.M.)
Level 2 — Tuesdays and Thursdays (9 A.M. - 1 P.M.)
Level 3 — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (9 A.M. - 12 P.M.)
Level 4 — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (9 A.M. - 12 P.M.)
Level 5 — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (9 A.M. - 12 P.M.)
Level 6 — Tuesdays and Thursdays (9 A.M. - 1 P.M.)
EVENING CLASSES
Evening Level 2 — Tuesdays and Thursdays (6 P.M. - 9 P.M.)
Evening Level 3 — Tuesdays and Thursdays (6 P.M. - 9 P.M.)
Evening Level 4 — Mondays and Wednesdays (6 P.M. - 9 P.M.)
Evening Level 5 — Tuesdays and Thursdays (6 P.M. - 9 P.M.)
Evening Level 6 — Mondays and Wednesdays (6 P.M. - 9 P.M.)
You must be 18 years or older to qualify for our program.
High School Equivalency (HSE/GED)
The Brooklyn College Adult Literacy Program (BCALP) offers Pre-HSE and HSE/GED classes.
BCALP classes prepare you for all areas of the GED:
Essay/Writing
Social Studies
Language Arts/Reading
Science
Mathematics
